Ah, yes sorry guys I messed up. You have to admit, though, there were a lot of Canthan festivals within a pretty short time frame, so its easy to confuse them.

Wouldn't mide a pet rat in-game, since I was born in the year of the Wood Rat. The year of the Earth Rat is already looking to be a good year.

According to Gaile, it's definitely happening.

I can't find the link, but Gaile said on a wiki discussion that they were definitely going to be holding the event. So, bring on the plague of Mini Rats and epic volumes of sweets! And a hat to.
You might be thinking of the Dragon festival, but then that's always around July 4th. Canthan New Year was held last year to coincide with Chinese New Year.

Of course, when the wiki uses the same image to represent both festivals I can understand how some people might confuse them...

I've had many pet rats upon my head. There are fates much worse than that.

I wish they'd slate the bigger events/festivals more in advance. A GW calender on the homepage would be nice. Friends have been wondering when the event would start too.

I pointed this out before, but there seems to be a lot of people thinking the event isn't happening, but they never announce these events in advance, it's always a week before it actually happens. Expect the announcement today or early tomorrow, when they usually put up info about the upcoming weekend event. The only time we've known about them earlier, was because of the special Wintersday and Halloween contests.

But I've never understood why they don't advertise them more, I missed the 2005 events even though I owned the game, because I wasn't much of a player back then, and although I heard they were doing something, I didn't know what it was, and didn't bother showing up. I really think making a bigger deal about these festivals would encourage a lot more people to play, but they just aren't advertised very well.

But continuity is more important that originality. An extra reward would be nie, but like with birthday miniatures and masks, the same thing given the last time should stay.

It's great if they give something extra, but the 'traditional' reward should also stay.

I hope it keeps the same schedule it did last year.
Meaning, I hope it starts at the end of next week.
I will be on vacation all next week.
I could care less about the hat if i miss it. I have other hats that I have missed out on.
Mini pet? If it is like the mini-pig in availability, I can buy one later.
Missing out on making cash to fund my skill hunter title or to buy sweets or to finally get R1 lucky or unlucky. (Sigh)
Maybe I do need a vacation.
